James May buys 'half' of Royal Oak

Not often dose Swallowcliffe make the BBC news, but while the format of local people owning a stake in the Royal Oak isn't new, what is new is latest local stakeholder being a rather famous face.

What had been know locally for a while was confirmed in rather spectacular style by Mr May himself when he Tweeted a photo of himself outside the Royal Oak with the words "I've bought half a pub".

Now that the news has become public, residents have been able to express their joy on social media and welcome Mr May to his new role as 1/2 a Landlord.

Fingers crossed that the Royal Oak is able to re-open soon, we wonder who will be pulling the pints??!
