Swallowcliffe Parish Council

Welcome to the Swallowcliffe Parish Council website. The Parish Council has responsibility for local issues, including setting an annual precept (local rate addition to your council tax) to cover the council's operating costs and producing annual accounts for public scrutiny. The Parish Council evaluates local planning applications and works with the local police, Wiltshire Council, and neighbourhood watch groups on matters of crime, security, and traffic in Swallowcliffe.

The Parish Council's role also includes initiating projects for the maintenance and repair of parish facilities, as well as consulting with Wiltshire Council on the maintenance, repair, and improvement of highways, drainage, footpaths, public transport, and street cleaning. Conservation matters (including trees and listed buildings) and environmental issues are also of interest to the council. The Parish Council works closely with Wiltshire Council, and we always invite the elected Wiltshire Councillor to join our meetings to provide updates that may be relevant to the Parish.

On this site you will find information about how to contact a Parish Councillor, upcoming meeting agendas and minutes of previous meetings. You will also see planning applications and the Parish Council response to individual applications, as well as news items relating to the Swallowcliffe.

Each Parish Councillor has their own area of responsibility - individual portfolios can found in the members section of this website.
