Parish Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer Vacancy

The Parish has a population of less than 200 residents and is surrounded by other very small parishes. The Village is lucky to have a pub (the Royal Oak) owned by celebrity James May

The Parish Council has 5 Members and over the last decade it has taken on and completed various projects, including implementing a 20mph speed limit, installing village gateways, upgrading stiles and putting in place a parish emergency plan.

The Council is friendly and welcoming with good cohesion. The Parish Council meets on Thursdays, with meetings lasting approximately 2 hours, starting at 7:00 pm

The Council would like to hear from anyone interested in the role, while experience is an advantage, training can be provided.

The contract is for 132 hours per year (just over 2.5 per week) but with the council meeting just 5 times per year (plus the Annual Parish Meeting) The week before and after meetings are the most busy periods. Otherwise, the quiet weeks often only consist of 30 minutes or so work.

This is a paid position, with the salary depending on experience and skills.
